As soon as we got out of the taxi we could see why the hotel was named the Grand Palace Hotel. Massive pillars, a grand entrance and everything very spacious and open. Combined with service from the heart, luxury design touches, and with everything spotlessly clean and new it really felt like stepping into a Palace.

The rooms at Grand Palace Hotel Sanur

Design wise The Grand Palace Hotel Sanur is not something we would personally fall for at first sight. Normally we would go for something cozier and uniquely designed rather than stately and bald, but we must say everything blended perfectly together and the rooms are very nicely decorated.

Grand Palace Hotel Sanur Bali boasts 96 well-appointed comfortable, stylish and spacious rooms. All room types have a balcony/terrace, furnished with 2 chairs and a table. Each guestroom is fitted with a king-sized bed or two single beds, working desk, 42-inch TV and wireless high-speed internet access.

We were staying at the Executive Pool View room, which is 50sqm, tastefully designed, had a raindrop shower, free internet and a balcony with of course pool views.

The bathroom had a pretty interesting color palette with black and orange marble in the shower, white marble sink benches and brownish flowery wallpaper.  The Ocean Musk amenities are not only smelling very good, but they are also free of nasty chemicals.

The Grand Palace Hotel Sanur also have Executive Pool Access rooms which have direct access to their swimming pool. Perfect if you want to wake up and start your day with a dip in the pool. The Executive Pool Access rooms feature the same layout ass the Executive Pool View Rooms.

Facilities at the Grand Place Sanur Hotel

For families with small children, the Grand Palace Sanur Hotel is not really your best pick. We think this hotel is perfect for couples who want to unwind and relax and business travelers.

It is nice and quiet, luxurious and it’s about 10 minutes from Sanur beach. Grand Palace Bali provides free transport to Sanur Beach, and from here you can explore the center of Sanur too.

For business travelers, the Grand Palace Sanur offers tree meeting rooms, outdoor function space and rooftop catering for up to 500 people, if you need something special. There is also free on-site parking, complimentary Wi-fi, and Business Centre Services.

The swimming pool is lovely, and also very quiet while we were there, perfect to cool down in and swim a few laps.

Lunch / Dinner at Sindhu Restaurant

We had lunch at the Grand Palace Hotel’s Sindhu Restaurant and Bar, which was absolutely delicious.  We ordered the Nasi Goreng, Mie Goreng, and a Gado Gado and it didn’t disappoint! For drinks of course Bintang ( Bali’s local beer ) and Ice Lemon Tea ( my favorite Bali drink – Ok and Bintang Radler as Balinese wine is yukky and the good imported wines are ridiculously expensive compared with Australian prices)

The name of the Restaurant, Sindhu is adapted from the local Sindhu Beach. The restaurant is tastefully designed and overlooks the swimming pool and gardens, which gives a relaxing dining ambiance.

Breakfast at the Sindhu Restaurant

Breakfast was not as good as their lunch. Not bad either, but kinda limited compared with other 4-star Hotels. It was an average breakfast buffet, with not many varieties.

Location of Grand Palace Hotel Sanur

The Grand Palace Hotel Sanur is conveniently located, but along the busy main road, and the direct surroundings are not very cozy.

Best way to go is with a taxi ( very cheap – but make sure you take an official Blue Bird taxi ) or with the in-house car of the Grand Palace Hotel Sanur.

It’s only 10 minutes from Sanur Beach, 40 Minutes from Ubud ( If you want to do a day trip ) and around 30 minutes from the Ngurah Rai International Airport.

  • Oh, it looks absolutely dreamy! Shame they didn’t offer much for the families with kids but I hope all of you still managed to have a good time! As always with your food pictures, you made me hungry! Xxx
