As soon as our taxi went off the highway, we landed in a maze of small little alleys with many properties tucked away inside their walled compound.
One of them was ours. Kayumanis, Where life is a private celebration. This is the slogan of Kayumanis and we can honestly say that they definitely live up to that. Life really was a private celebration during our 2-night stay, hosted by Kayumanis Sanur.
Kayumanis Private Villa’s Sanur
As soon as we stepped out of our taxi, we knew this accommodation was something special. Something typical Balinese, yet also very modern and luxurious. It’s like walking inside a little compounded rustic village with lush green vegetation, birds singing, and the friendliest people on the planet.
We got warmly welcomed with a drink and a refreshing towel and within minutes we got escorted to our private one bedroom Villa.
Kayumanis Sanur offers 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms private villa’s. Eleven in total. Each of them is a little sanctuary from the outside world with their own swimming pool, lush gardens, Balinese decor and all the home conveniences you can think off in a modern Balinese setting. Everything in their luxury private villa is tastefully designed and has a proper space. There is a place to eat, to sleep and to relax.

As soon as we walked through the beautiful entrance we knew this would feel like our home away from home. – And actually even better as our home is smaller than this private villa at Kayumanis Sanur 😉
Our private villa was called Gender, which is a metallophone where metal is struck with two mallets to produce a sound.
Our villa was elegantly designed and had a beautiful outside area/living room, a kitchen, a well-manicured garden with swimming pool, a cozy and calm bedroom, a massive bathroom with a bath and outside shower. There was also a top floor with a 2nd bedroom, bathroom, and balcony.
What an absolute stunner of an accommodation to celebrate life and your family holiday in Bali! After all the ‘wows’ and ‘oohs’ we got a short briefing from our personal butler about our private villa. Ahum , What do you mean decadence?!
We almost felt like royalties, a personal butler, for us?! Everyone who knows’s us well knows that even if we had all the money in the world, we would never hire a butler – to down to earth – we almost felt guilty when we called him for our transport to town, because that went via our butler.
So let’s call our personal butler, our hotel concierge. The person who we could call 24 hours a day, whenever we needed something. He or She makes sure everything is top notch at your private villa and can help you with anything from tour bookings to transportation needs and beyond.
Also included in the room rate was a 15-minute head, shoulder or foot massage. Yes, please! You can never have too many massages when in Bali.
Another few complimentary items at Kayumanis Sanur where the daily re-stocked mini bar, homemade cookies ( wish they could send them to Australia ) a daily seasonal fresh fruit basket, lovely afternoon tea complimentary GOOD working WiFi. Good with capital letters, because Wifi in some ( luxury ) hotels in Bali is just crap and a complimentary shuttle service from Kayumanis Private Villa’s to anywhere in the Sanur area and Kayumanis Sanur’s beach facility.

Kayumanis Gong Restaurant Sanur
The name of the Restaurant at Kayumanis Sanur is Gong and is named after a typical Balinese instrument, just like the Gender ( the name of our Villa )
Specializing in upmarket Balinese cuisine, Gong restaurant’s menu is driven by market-fresh ingredients and seasonal delicacies infused with local herbs and spices for added flavor. Gong restaurant says; ‘Every dish is a journey that unveils the exotic secrets of Bali’s culinary heritage’. Just beautiful.
Gong Restaurant Sanur is a peaceful place that has been elegantly styled to seat couples and small groups in comfort. Service immaculate with great attention to detail.
Signature Breakfast
Another thing Gong Restaurant Sanur is really good at is their signature Breakfast. They serve a signature menu of a la carte meals to boost energy levels. We could choose to have our breakfast ( included in room rate ) at Gong Restaurant or in our Villa.
Villa, please! Nothing nicer than waking up in the morning, jumping bare naked in the pool, put on your comfy bathrobe and getting breakfast and coffee served in your villa by Kayumanis’s ever so happy and smiling staff.
Breakfast was just one healthy feast and for us a great start of another day in paradise.
Kayumanis Sanur Beach Facility
Sanur beach, with its extensive walkway along the coastline, is edged with colorful market stalls and chill cafes to create that typical Balinese relaxing vibe.
Kayumanis Sanur’s beach facility in Sanur has a few daybeds with towels and umbrella’s to enjoy a comfortable day by the sea in a designated area. It take’s only 10 minutes by car from Kayumanis Sanur to the beach facility. Your driver will bring you to the beach whenever you like and picks you up at your preferred time.
Activities at Kayumanis Sanur
We choose to relax and indulge ourselves in the luxury villa lifestyle during our short stay, but if you stay longer at Kayumanis Sanur ( maybe your entire holiday – lucky you!! ) you can book a range of activities from a Bali Ricefield tour to a Beach picnic lunch, the choice is yours.

Traveling with children to Kayumanis Sanur
Is great! Kayumanis is a family orientated property that warmly welcomes family’s who are traveling with small children. They offer a range of facilities and services for traveling family’s, like baby cots & high chairs, but also a qualified babysitter can be arranged if needed.
Kayumanis also has family-friendly private villa’s in Jimbaran, Ubud, and Nusa Dua. Please Note: Kayumanis Ubud and Kayumanis Nusa Dua only accommodate children older than 12.
