Morocco | What to do in and around Agadir

What to do in Agadir, Morocco

Morocco can be smoking hot in Summer, but Autumn, Winter, and Spring are perfect for a visit to this African Country. In winter, temperatures are still around 21 Degrees with clear blue skies. Sounds good for a winter sun destination right?

European Low Cost airline Ryanair, flew from Niederrhein Weeze ( NRN ) in Germany to Agadir ( AGA ) in Morocco.

I stayed 8 days and went together with my dad and his wife ( they stayed a week longer ) which was perfect to boost my vitamin D, get a tan, relax, watched my Dad having a typical Moroccan haircut and shave, and discover and learn about the people, culture, colors, and nature of Morocco.

What to do in Agadir, Morocco

→ Stroll around and shop, eat and drink

Agadir is the main tourist beach destination in Morocco with a seaside promenade lined with cafes, restaurants, bars, and boutiques. The buildings are all quite low build, which gives Agadir a cozy character.

→ Visit the Souk

Agadir has a massive souk with many market stalls where you can buy everything you can imagine. Make sure you bargain your prices down!

→ The Beach in Agadir

The beach in Agadir is Great for sun lovers. The wide sandy beach makes for hours of relaxation and chilling out.

What to do outside of Agadir

If you want to know more about the real Moroccan culture and life, make sure you go inland and discover mountain Berber villages, souks, oasis, and historical buildings.

Here are the two things I did outside of Agadir.

Jeep Safari and Visit Imouzzer

This was a great day tour ( multiple day tours are available as well ) to explore the real Morocco. We went with a 4 wheel drive off the beaten tracks, through mountains, villages, visited a Berber family, and explored the rough country side of Morocco.

Visit the villages Tiout and Taroudant

Another great day tour which will show you to remote, dry and barren landscapes, wild camels and goats that stand on tree branches ( I am serious! – Can you spot the goat standing on a tree branch below? ↓ )

Tiout is a remote town located 90 km from Agadir and surrounded by palms in a natural oasis. With the Atlas Mountains in the background, it’s a beautiful little place.

Taroudant is a little city surrounded by old historical city walls with lovely markets full of spices, locals selling and making traditional things and lots of terracotta and earthy colors.
